The Newhouse Apartments is a historic building located in Price, Utah. Renovation of Newhouse was completed in December 2009. The building includes 17 apartments. The project is Energy Start certified and incorporates the use of solar technology.
Newhouse Apartments and Avalon House
Newhouse staff work closely with the staff of Avalon House to find the best housing options for homeless, near-homeless and low-income individuals and families in the area. Under this model, these individuals and families will go from the streets or homeless shelters into permanent housing.
Coordination involves property managers, case managers, and providers of support services in order to ensure continued client progress and program success. The program assists individuals disabled by compromised health, mental illness, substance abuse, and/or a basic lack of job skills through effective case management and enrollment in supportive programs offered by local health and job training services.
Together, Newhouse Apartments and Avalon House provides a total of 51 housing units. The project is a key component to the state of Utah's 10-year plane to end homelessness.
